The American Embassy in Vienna is currently recruiting for a
Telecommunication Technician (m/f)
The incumbent is responsible for the technical installation, adjustment, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair for the Tri-Missions Vienna communications network. This includes all telephone systems and data systems (all high speed circuits, equipment and cabling). The telephone network consists of multiple CS-1000 digital telephone switches receiving all incoming calls for the U.S. Missions and other agencies in diverse locations throughout Vienna.
Qualifications and competencies required:
HTL (Higher Technical School) or international equivalent, i.e., two years in full time post-secondary education (e.g., technical college) with specialization in Telecommunications and/or Electronics
Five years of experience as a telecommunication and/or data specialist, including experience in analog and IP-based technologies
Good working knowledge of English and Fluency in German
In-depth knowledge of operation and maintenance of IP based telephone systems and data systems and understanding of advanced telephone, IP technology and data environment
Driver’s license B is required
Starting salary is 42,437 EUR annual salary, plus the additional bonus payments (13th and 14th month payment).
